As confinement measures are becoming commonplace again with the rise of a second wave, out-of-home and cinema advertising has still not recovered from the first wave. Print advertising has also not recovered.
So it almost goes without saying that most in-person marketing engagement has disappeared over the last few months. ‘In-person’ meaning, for example, consumers visiting shopping malls, going into stores, attending trade shows or browsing in car showrooms.
That doesn’t mean that consumers aren’t active and engaged. It’s just that retail has mainly moved on-line. According to Marketing Hub, there has been an 84% increase in people’s openness to new digital offerings during the pandemic. Not surprising really, since consumers are spending more time at home and more time on their devices.
This should lead to marketers re-appraising their budgets and re-allocating chunks of spend to meet the increase in demand on-line. Many are doing just that. And these increases come as marketers are realising the importance of consistent marketing during the pandemic. Just 10% believe marketing has decreased in importance and with many businesses fighting for survival, marketing is set to play an essential part in their recovery.
Many marketers expect this behaviour to stick long-term too because as of May this year, 33% believe the increased value placed on digital experiences will stay with us for good. There has already been a rise in the percentage of sales coming through digital- up from 13.5% in January 2020 to 19.3% in May.
For digitally native businesses like Domeble, being adaptable and quick on our feet in response to changes in the marketplace is a key part of what we’re about.
And it re-enforces our belief that if you can’t physically shoot your next marketing campaign, you can still plan it and put it together with Domeble’s backplates and 360° HDRIs; some of the highest quality assets on the planet.
With uncertainty around marketer’s budgets, we offer real flexibility too, to fit with how you are currently managing your budget – monthly, quarterly or annually. And we’re a resource you can dip into at the drop of a hat, to create a shoot from scratch in a very short space of time – and at a fraction of the cost of shooting a live production.
